If you bring them rolled...make sure they are rolled with the paint OUT.

To save weight and bulk, I usually bring paintings rolled. No problems so far. The shops will roll them for you and tie them with string handles but last time I bought a document roll (Tabung) from the Bali Mal Galeria Stationery Shop. (It's a fancy version of the document posting cardboard rolls you can get at Australia Post.) I rolled up about half a dozen of the large paintings carefully together and brought them home inside this tube.

I reframe my own - use cheap frames from places like Crazy Clarks and they look fine as long as you stretch them carefully and fold the corners carefully. Staple them with a staple gun. I don't think I would pay for professional framing unless I had something special painted or was planning to keep the pictures for years. I change my pictures so don't want to spend a lot on framing.
