You will need to walk out of the Airport Entrance Gates to hail a metered taxi. If you try to hire a metered taxi in the car park, you will start a fight.
In the past, I have jumped in a taxi as it has dropped off passengers at Arrivals and negotiated for the driver to use the meter. It is not a task for the faint hearted.
My wife started World War 3 amongst the taxi drivers, when she tried to get the taxi driver to use the meter from the Domestic Terminal.
The drivers like to keep their cosy monopoly as the vouchers are effectively double the meter rate.
