Back yesterday A.M. - Short trip this one..only 8 days due to work commitments but still great time. There was wife, myself, daughter no2, our besties and their daughter and another couple..so was quite a group. The couple were Bali virgins so it was all new and they had a blast. Went up to Ubud one day and did the usual look around,had a great meal at The Tropical in Ubud...highly recommended,good food and great friendly service...in Oz if you turn up somewhere with 8 people for a meal they might panic but in Bali it was never a problem. Also went to the Elephant Park...3 of us had done the rides last trip so while most did the elephant rides the rest did the ATV - 4 wheel motorbikes and had a ball...you get 45 minutes through beautiful bush tracks (and about 50mtrs on road) saw wild monkeys etc..was great. Sanur was a good day out but I found these days the shop sellers seem to be a bit more agressive with the hard sell than other places. Had a magic night watching the sunset at La luchiola,open air dinner,drinks and a great night by all. Expensive for bali standards but a nice treat. One of the guys had a jacket made and I had a Leather Vest made by Made at Jurassic Leather on Sahadewa st,Legian..did a fantastic job and great price. As you turn into the lane for Jurassic Leather drop into Wayan's Yanthi clothing...she is a great lady and has always been honest and has good fair prices...say goodaye from Andy from Adelaide. If you are after good quality DVD's try Sakura DVD center in Dempasar, we have found them to be good quality at a great price (around $1 AU each) You may find 1 or two in 50 are no good but for that price who cares. We got around 52 this time..in their cases...every 10 DVD's you get 3 free. Drinks were had a few times at the Legends Bar and had a couple of great nights at Zappaz Bar in Seminyak...live band every night and a great atmosphere...if you havent been before go along for some good music that is ok for young and old alike...the only downside is the spirits are getting expensive so drink Bintangs and you'll be fine. The girls did plenty of shopping (ok..the guys did too) and we had some relax time at the pool at Bali Ayu but another great time in paradise again but it was just not long enough. Have to start planning trip no.5 soon. By the way if you need a great driver call my mate Wayan (+6281338566877)...good english,great guy,and a nice a/cond 4 wheel drive (and can get a van to seat 8 quite easy).
