first of all, i have to say that ive just had the best 8 days of my life.

group of 8 of us went, all around 19 years old, fantastic amount of people, enough to split up yet enough to byo party anywhere.

ACCOMODATION
stayed at the Puri Raja in Legian, was very happy with them. clean rooms, good aircon, shower works, beds comfy and it has a pool bar. breakfast was included in our package at the hotel each morning, it's not buffet style but it's good enough. found the reception staff not as helpful as i would have liked, but minor detail.

RESTAURANTS/PUBS

Indonational- fantastic food and cheap prices, owned by aussies. we ate there twice and both times the owner came out and had a chat to us. definately a must.

Drops- not really impressed, fairly pricey and average food..not much atmosphere.

Poppies- absolutely beautiful little garden, fantastic food. however small servings and a little pricey but definately worth it. got to try the pina coladas which are served in a coconut carved into a monster face.

Rama Beach Garden (?)- average food, horrible service and tv was up very loud, but would be good for a beer and i hear they show the footy etc.

Poco Locos- a little pricey, nice food (VERY filling) and i got the feeling that everything on the menu was just a different version of the same thing. good atmosphere

don't know the name of this place, but went for a tour to ubud and ate at that restaurant that looks over a valley. anyway it had a breathtaking view and amazing food.

also in ubud, a restaurant opposite the ubud markets, i think its opposite the stairs. we had the BEST burgers mmm. they cost about $10Au but so so good.

Legian Pub: awesome to drink at, the staff are halarious, drinks are ridiculously alcoholic and the karaoke is terrible. we drank there lots and were very sad to say goodbye to the staff. the steak sandwhiches there are also pretty good.

the bounty: i type this with a smile. stayed up dancing here till the sun came up, those drinks give you the worst hangover and get you very messy. be careful though because the local guys can be fairly sleazy and there are some real dodgy people there. we drank the red illusions because they came with a lid on them to prevent drink spiking. my boyfriends wallet got stolen out of his pocket..not very sympathetic towards him though because it was just in the back pocket of his boardies.
LOVE THE BOUNTY

went to some various other pubs..but let's just say i don't remember much about them.

also i did find that the streets got very seedy after about 1am, would not reccomend walking anywhere alone. my boyfriend walked home one night by himself and got hassled a lot by prostitutes (at one stage there were about 5, 1 grabbing his crouch, another trying to grab his wallet and others preventing him from walking). but really, as long as you use some common sense and don't put yourself in bad positions i felt very safe.

SHOPPING
bought lots of pretty dresses for about 30,000 each.

hair braiding with extensions: 350,000 Rp

dvds/cd's about 10,000

bintang singlets 20,000

fake ralph perfume 30,000

may do a part 2, bu thats all for now..hope it wasn't to irrevelanvt or boring
