First i would like to say a thank you to the members of this forum who helped me sort this problem out from both Bali and Australia.

The hotel is now free from bed bugs.

I have had contact with both manager and owner and have been assured that new hygiene measures have been put in place to ensure this problem does not accrue in the future.

The bugs have also been eradicated affected beds mattresses and linen replaced.

This does seem to have been an isolated incident that was tracked back to backpackers frequenting this hotel(my room in particular) more often than in the past due to its great location and affordable price especial now as more backpackers are becoming "Flashpackers".

Staff education was an issue and has also been addressed in a more thorough way.

As I said this problem was an isolated incident and during this period i have had friends staying at the hotel since I have been home and no other guests were affected.

Even though the original post became a debacle,I am glad I took the "Softly Softly" approach because the outcome is good for all.

I would have no problem staying at this hotel in the future although my wife has mixed feelings at present, and rightly so.

I will still check my bed in any hotel or lodgings in the future as i know that this can be a problem brought in from outside in any class or price hotel.

Also the problem of street girls or ladies of the night visiting guests in a more open manner in Bali for longer periods and in better class hotels than in the past does not help this problem when you consider some of their sleeping arrangements when not staying with a hotel guest.

Each to their own,but i believe a room fine like in most good Thai hotels would go a long way in Bali as the room fine pays for extra hygiene measures to ensure future guests are staying in a clean hygienic room irrespective of who the previous guests were or how they conducted their stay.

I feel my bit has been done and will now leave the forum.

Thanks again to the helpers
