Don't write off the local Hattens wine, in particular the Rose and the Dry White. Recent batches of it have been reasonable drinking, especially with a little ice in it if necessary to keep it chilled. Watch out for bad bottles though, caused by either the cork or being stored in the heat. There is a respected Tasmanian winemaker now involved in the company and the production.
