I must say that I was reading the post further down and initially didnt realise they were refering to Kiwi Carols reply.. my comment would have been hang on .. her mum is in her 50s (just a little older than me ) and suggesting a walking stick was a bit much. SOme days I am a bit slow.. can I blame that on old age.
Anyway luv2 travel. I stayed at ALum Kul Kul a couple of years ago and found it lovely as it was a small quiet hotel. My only complaint was that it was a bit of a walk around to the main shopping area but this may have changed over the last couple of years with the development. Niksoma is apparently very nice. You could also consider something in south kuta as this is very close to all the shopping like discovery mall etc and there are great restaurant around. I am sure you will both enjoy a great trip.
