I believe that Aussies who normally travel once, twice or more in a year will not be doing so this year and others to follow.

It is becoming too expensive in alot of the popular hotels for accomodation.
In 2006 we stayed in a Hotel in Tuban(Shall remain nameless), it cost me $55 Aud per night per room Deluxe Poolside, stay 10 nights get 2 or 4(cant quite remember) for free, children under 12 free in same room plus 1 free meal pp.
Each year the price has risen at a fair rate (as it should)and we have continued to stay there.
But sadly for 2009 we can no longer afford to stay there.
Its now $95USD ($140 Aud)per night and no free deals.

In saying this we will still go and were lucky enough to get into KP who thankfully still charge in Rp at a good price.

I realise we are not the only nation that travels to Bali but we must be by far one of there biggest clients!
I see more Aussies in the resaurants, bars, shops and on the streets than anyone else.
I have aske the Balinese where are all the Japanese, Koreans, Russians?? The reply is that they mostly just stay in their hotels.
Look at the signage on the streets and it is all geared towards the Aussie tourist.
If our travel drops off to Bali I believe they will really start to suffer again.
Has this trend started already??
I hope not for the sake of the locals, but I do believe it will happen.
