I'm just generalizing. There are plenty of exceptions both ways - people in Oz who are poor through no fault of their own & people in Bali who are poor by 'choice' (my definition). It's just that the majority is skewed around the opposite way in each case.
I've also been unemployed as a middle aged man, which makes it very difficult to find another job. And, yes, I've had a devil of job jumping through all the welfare system 'flaming hoops'. Was unemployed for over 8 mths. But my point is still valid, if you make good choices in life you WILL come out on top again albeit sometimes with great difficulty.
