...in an outrigger with twin 75Hp engines...was an experience travelling with locals (and the odd live chook as well)...there was a huge rolling swell (October) and it took ages to get there...only one of our lot was physically sick...he went from pink to white to green then erupted...quite funny (not for him though).

We stayed 2 nights then back again on the outrigger..had to wade out waist deep to get onboard then a slow rolling trip back to Benoa (or near there)

Overall was a very cheap trip..we picked up some great accomm overlooking the seaweed farms when we got there (about $5 per night) and rented a boat and went snorkelling over the reefs (about $20 for 5 of us for 2 hours) .. great .... The owner of the place we stayed (can't remember the name) dressed us in sarongs and headgear etc and took us to a ceremony (full moon I think...sorry.. too many dead braincells) Afterwards the owner fed us some pork followed by black rice pudding..yummy.I can remember that!

Haven't been back since ..I bet the place has changed..

A trip there is highly recommended..not sure that I would take the outrigger again if i had kids with me...

PS: When we got back home we told a friend about our trip to Lembongan and she recalled doing the trip in an outrigger in the late 70s..only when she did it they paddled across!!
