It is always sad to come back from Bali. We took a short trip and hopefully some of the info here will be helpful to someone. Travelled with Jetstar from Perth for the first time on 24th December. The flight was great. Seats comfortable in leather and we paid extra on-line to get the emergency exit seats. I reckon it was worthwhile. We were met with the VIP Netfare company who took us to a separate lounge and organised the paperwork while we sipped Bintang and ate some cream cakes. Not a good combination. The VIP guy took us through customs and out to our waiting hotel shuttle. Very smooth and we reckon it was worth the $38 plus entry Visa. We stayed at the Melia Benoa in Nusa Dua which is all inclusive if you pay the extra. All food and drinks which was handy although we took Jerryatric's advice and ate out at the Tropical Restaurant at the Bali Collection for Christmas Lunch. Only 3 couples at the Restaurant and Bali was very quiet over Christmas. The Melia Benoa hotel is being renovated and only half of the hotel was open so the pool lounge hogs were not so bad. We were only in Bali for 4 days, back last night to Perth but managed to get our DVD quota sorted plus we had our family tradition of bloody marys at the Ramayana hotel bar called Gabadahs. The best bloody marys in the world so my wife tells me. There is a newish restaurant overlooking the beach outside the Centro shopping centre which was good value for a snack and drinks. Taxis have gone up in price since August but are still cheap in comparison with OZ. Very few tourists but this was increasing. Exchange rate around 7,500 rup to the Aussie dollar. Coming back yesterday we stayed in the Dewi lounge for food and drinks. We negotiated to 250,000 for 3 adults and my son could have a puff upstairs. Cigar that is! Give us a message if I can help.
