It was just my opinion and I didn't feel that way after the first two stays there. I probably shouldn't have put that comment in there because when I say why it's going to get me flamed for sure! The place was unbelieveably packed and it is 99% Aus guests. And, as previously stated here so I may have had a preconceived opinion, quite a loud, yobbo element to the place. I really didn't find it a pleasant place to be compared to more recent stays at Bali Hai (closed), Bali Garden Hotel and Jayakarta. Heavy metal music playing at pool bar, couldn't get anywhere near the pool bar it was so crowded. Pool was really hot, not refreshing at all. Large groups of people/friends there. Very loud. Guys walking throughtout the resort drinking Bintang stubbies. Christmas Dinner buffet and several guys shirtless at buffet. It was by the pool but still, it was dinner. It is probably alot to do with time of year. This may be hypocritical of me as I have kids, but there were tons of kids there. Hundreds I reckon.
On the plus side their new coffee shop 'Senses' is open and looks really nice. The new lobby area is lovely and the new Family Studio Rooms were great. It's in a good location near some good restaurants.
Look, all I can say is that it's not for us. Preferred the atmosphere at the other hotels. Your kids will no doubt love it there and they do have a good kids club (although it's too close to the pools for me to be comfortable leaving my young one there, even with his own babysitter).
Perhaps over the Xmas period most people, like us, were staying in the resort hence making it more crowded than usual. Certainly people seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Each to their own. That element will probably prefer if I stay elsewhere also!

ps. the staff there were probably the best of any hotel I've stayed at. Everyone, at any time, everywhere in the resort, greeted you with a smile and hello. Really lovely staff. Their best asset!!
