My husband got it when we were staying in Ubud just over a week ago. He first felt as if something had suddenly flown into his eye, and it progressed from there. Within 24 hours I had also developed it. We both used antibiotic drops. His are clear now, mine are almost there.
I recall having conjunctivitis a couple of times as a child, but never as vicious as this. Our eyes were so red they looked as if they were bleeding, so we dubbed it 'devil eye'.
