it is not quiet, we live here and we notice the difference, especially in traffic, I was stuck on the highway for 1.5hours to go 5 kms on Xmas Eve. The Balinese will always tell you it is quiet, they still even say "since the Bomb it has been quiet". One old guy has been telling me that it is the quietest he has seen it in 35 years, but he says this to me every year. All hotels are nearly fully booked out. Ubud is soo busy, so is Sanur, there are a lot of shops and restaurants in Legian, Kuta etc and to fill them all would be impossible. We find that more and more people are getting out of Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and experiencing a different part of Bali. If you look at the growth of for example Seminyak in 10 years, of course it was going to be busier as there are so many more shops and the amount of people coming has increased but not in ratio to the amount of shops and restaurants that have been built.
