I usually stay at the Ramayana but after this last trip, not again. The hotel has always charged in US$ and has a high conversion rate to RP but this trip they really overdid it. The street price was around 11,000rp but the hotel was changing at 13,000rp, certainly made a difference to my holiday money as the dollar had dropped to around 7000rp and travellers cheques were no longer wanted. No longer is there just a small (about 20rp) difference, try upwards of 200rp. The hotel has also changed the size of the bottles of water supplied by the hotel to 330ml and even the omlette has shrunk. I think this is to help pay for the renovations. I could go on but wont.
