I have stayed at both the Barong and Garden View Cottages. My choice between those 2 would definately without a doubt be the Barong.
The Barong is closer to Mataharis and Centro, but you would still have a little walk to get to either.
Barong is in Kuta, Poppies 2 whereas Garden View Cottages is in Legian.
