Our day trips were to waterbom park which the kids loved we hired a cabanna and swam, ate and relaxed it was a fun exhausting day had by all.
Next adventure was to the barong dancers ,batik making , silver jewellery and last to the monkey forest .Oh those dam monkeys ,now our driver warns us don't buy bananas and you'll be right. Within 5 seconds of walking in a japanese man in front off us has a large male monkey jump on his shoulder and as he swats to get it off it nicely sinks its teeth in so he and his wife hastily retreat out off their. My daughters now become afraid to move and are jumping out of their skin but down the track we go following hubby who leads the way, 4 steps down the path this monkey jumps on my back freaking me out i start screaming for hubby to get it of but its biting my shirt and trying to climb down my top i continue being a crazy woman and hubby finally swipes this monkey sending it flying ,the monkey then turns around screeching madely at him im sure it was monkey swearing. We are now out of their that was more than enough monkeys for 1 day i honestly thought i was going to puke but we witnessed a very pregnant english lady feeding bananas to monkeys while three others climbed all over her now thats crazy.

white water rafting- We met at the pool Rob & shauna from QLD and they asked if we would be interested in going rafting with them and their daughter amy so we think yep sounds like fun ,they have been 6 times before. Now in case you couldn't tell im not much of a thrill seeker and found it hard to sleep as i listen to the rain come down and having previosly read about a japanese tourist drowning whilst rafting i was a little apprehensive. Any way of we go my hubby ,me and 11 year in 1 raft other 3 kids in another . First 5 minutes down the river the raft carrying my 3 kids tips sending them into the drink ,i watch as they come to the surface but start crying my eyes out .oldest son gets back in raft ,15 grabs hold of her 13 year old brother screaming at him to stand up but having read the safety card that states stay on your back he starts merrily floating down the river until his guide yells for him to stand, once he does he is only in knee deep water so i regain composure and of we go down the river. When we reach the 1st little bridge where you have to lay flat i fell right back into the raft and for the life of me couldn't get up so my legs are up in the air and im in hysterics laughing hubby is the same and our guide who is as small as my 11 year old is trying to lift my dead weight by my life jacket now im not a huge woman i would be average size12/14 but the guide nicely says to hubby oh we have big one here which hubby has now adopted as my pet name. The currents were quite strong and our companions said they have never seen it so strong but the rest of the way was very enjoyable until we reach near the end where you go over the water fall.Nay our 11yo starts to cry and wants to get out and walk i try and calm her saying it will be over quickly so close your eyes and over we go now she is laughing and wants to do it again,KIDS.This turned out to be the most enjoyable day and we were all shattered by days end but well worth it.

Safari Park- This was a good day and kids loved touching and having photos taken with the animals but i was a little dissapointed found the cost was a lot for 6 about 300 au and not really that many animals maybe we are just spoilt as we did Dubbo Zoo last september holidays and this place was fantastic. Also my kids were a bit to old for the pool and likes.

Eating- I can honestly say we never had a bad meal around Legain some a little better than others but all good feeds. The worst we had was when we went to Carrefour we ate at a fast food place this was disgusting and the most expensive was at Hard Rock but this was a treat for older sons birthday as he plays guitar and loves his music.
KIDS favs were flying piano they loved the band these guys were great fun, La Monde, La casa these guys were very friendly kids loved them,
Billys again great staff, Indonational kids loved that the chicken mie goren came with a chicken schnitzel and we ate all along the beach front also.Tommys was also the favourite lunch place we ate here many times the kids loved his cold milos and tommy told us that he was unable to solve one of mind puzzles so this was hubbys focus and he did solve it much to the dismay of 18 yo who considers himelf a smarty as he is doing double degree at uni but he never got it and it pevs him greatly,he vows next time .

Shopping- We brought heaps of the usual sunnies ,hats, bintang singlets, handbags , clothes ,nick nacks etc .My favourite place to shop was at Ketuts and with directions from forum we set of to find this but had gone way past with 13 year old insisting he knew where sahadewa was and had seen gang 2 so we say ok show us now im sure that in a past life this kid was balinese cause sure enough we all follow and he leads a straight there he even pronounces street names like a local ,he became our little homing pidgeon if we felt disorientated. we made the track to ketuts many times during our stay .I also loved Geneva and was only limited by baggage space because i made the fatal mistake of taking way to much clothing from home,I'll never do this again. Girls had hair braided twice one got extensions, we had nails done and i had only one massage its not my thing which others find hard to understand.

The rest off the time was about chilling and relaxing and so much swimming ,now i don't normally tan i burn ,peel, burn peel but i came home with a lovoely tan that everyone has commented on with using sunsreen of course.

Flight home - found Denpasar airport very strict with numerous checks as well as a complete frisk for every passanger. Plane was an hour late to take off again and then on reaching Sydney we had to circle now i had had enough by now so i start throwing up ,i couldn't get of that plane quick enough.Through to customs, hubby has brought knives from a street lady so he goes to declare these while i have the other bag with all our wooden ornaments.I start pulling them all out to show the male customs officer and to my horror find a bag which contains 7 penis bottle openers that my lovely hubby had packed in my things i can feel the face burn as the guy looks inside the bag and then says to me wow mam how many of these do you need.anyway everything gets through except the lovely dining chair cushions i had made , not happy Jan we never thought the knives would clear which they did but never for a moment considered the cushions .If only i had packed them in the kids bags their bags weren't even xrayed the guy just asked if they had bb guns and through they went.

All in all this was the best holiday we have ever had. we came home so relaxed no stress about work just the best time had by all, we are now converted and are planning to return for xmas next year and take mum with us .Thankyou to all on this forum where your info made it easy for us and we felt familar just through reading and keeping notes on things . For now we have Bali pimped our house and we have
to enjoy this until we return.

cheers Michelle
