That might sound funny but New York, London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Ankara, Bangkok, Hamburg, Oklahoma City, Atlanta, Washington, Port Arthur etc have all had murderous rampages and no-one should be surprised (horrified, yes, but surprised, no) when the next one strikes. Bali has a problem but I don't think it's any worse at heart than a lot of other places. People aren't staying away from London which is, statistically speaking, a much more dangerous place for tourists than Bali will probably ever be. Having said that, I would never try and convince someone who was reluctant or questioning to visit Bali and I think that those on this forum who do should be ashamed of themselves. Regards, Luke.
