There is alcohol around but prices are ridiculous - Johnny Walker Red label (750ml) for example are selling for AUD$80 - 90 and the Bali Hatten brands have shot up to Rp175.00 a bottle.
The cheap and some what dangerous Mansion House (local brand made up of ethyl alcohol, water and relevant spirit concentrate) is now in the Rp150.000 range.
As for wine - the cheapest Aussie stuff is now selling for AUD$60 a bottle in restaurants.
Why? Who knows? Talk about shoot yourself in the foot........
