In Bali at the moment and took a walk along Seminyak Beach this morning from Sofitel towards Kuta. I have been coming to Bali for 30 years and never seen it like this. The locals have been telling me it is due to both the rain and the big tides which causes the rubbish to wash in from Java. The beach seems much better further up in front of Oberoi and towards KuDe Ta as these places employ their own cleaners who are out each morning.
It is such a shame for people who are coming to Bali for the first time - they will think it is always like this.
