is about 5-10 minutes from Lombok but about 2 hours or so from Padangbai in Bali and abit longer from Benoa plus the time from hotel. There are a few companies and if you google "lombok guide" they have them listed with websites. During the wet season the boat may or may not go and seas are usually bumpy. Forget the public ferry unless you are prepared for a hassle of an entire day. There are a number of flights to Lombok each day (due to weather there are some delays but go for the am flights) and the landing for the 5-10 minute speed boat is about 45 minutes drive from airport. Peramatour website will also have info and will take email bookings for flights. DIY flight bookings when in Bali are usually cheaper than the fast boats and places like Beach House (as suggested hotel in previous post) will meet you at airport for additional price of course but I think they are worth it and you get a scenic ride through the Lombok monkey forest.
