Finally bit the bullet and ordered some flights for the 13th-20th Jan. A whole $770 including taxes from Melbourne direct with Jetstar. As flights were around $200 cheaper than I was expecting, I am looking for reccomendations for good hotels in the Kuta, Tuban & Legian area. I have stayed in the Melasti Beach Resport (fine but done that), White Rose (fine but done that X2), Bakung Sari (was previous choice due to price, and have stayed there before and am happy with it), along with Bakungs Beach Cottages (average). Found Seminyak & Jimbaran Bay too expensive for my liking (shopping and food wise), and have been to Ubud and Amed a couple of times.
I am a single and am looking to spend around $60 a night, but may be willing to spend $80 for something special. Party scene is not my thing, so no Troppo Zone.
Also, do people think it is worth staying in Lovina. It looks ok and I noticed that accom is cheap (even though you pay for it with travel up there). Sanur is also not my thing, not much there in my books after driving through it numerous times. Any other general suggestions on general places to stay would also be appreciated.
