We are staying at the KP in May/June for the first time, not expecting 5* I'll be happy to just get what we pay for.
I have always suspected that all hotels wash the cups and glasses in the tap water so I just have to turn a blind eye to that practice. My husband brushes his teeth in the tap water and I cringe every time he does it... he ignores my whinging!!
The hard beds at the KP is a concern for my dicky hips, but I've fixed that little problem and been to Clark Rubber and bought a piece of high density foam and cut it in two and fits in the bottom of both our cases. We've recently invested in duffel bags on wheels (for weight) and there is heaps of room.
I love cats (but not on the table or kitchen benches) however, I quite like them hanging around so don't growl at me but I'm one of the ones that feed the cats :-) I generally adopt a cat and occasionally the odd dog during our stay... just hoping they haven't all been 'disposed' of as it would be a rotten old world without them.
