We paid in Denpasar - I was hoping to do it all in Jakarta as I thought we had a three hour wait and would just clear customs as we had to board another flight (which was domestic) but they wouldn't let us - we had to be "transit" passengers and then clear in Bali. Made no sense to me, but what do I know? Long as we get there in the end.
