When we go there we actually go right to the end of the street where the fish market is. Buy what we want straight from the vendors at the fish market( and there are heaps there ) for good prices ( like 120,000 rp for a kilo of banana prawns ) and then walk up the side street from the market to a place that actually cooks while you wait. We usually get some squid ( which the prepare there ) and a whole schnapper ( which they also prepare ). Think last time the cost to prepare and cook it all was about 80-90,000 rp
You can stay there and eat it while having a beer and some ( limited ) conversation with the lovely Dutch lady who owns it, or just walk back to the beach and watch the sunset.
BTW some of those prices may vary as I have the assistance of a local with me :)
So try that for an alternative to actually going to the Restaurant.
