Taro twice, last time in '06. Much longer ride at Taro and prob nicer scenery - you go thru forest etc.. About a 1/2 hr trek I think. They also take the elephant into the 'lake' for a bath at the end of the ride and then you get to feed the elephant. Didn't think it was as much as US80 to get in but could be wrong. Very nice grounds and quite a good restaurant there - don't remember how expensive it was.
Went to Safari Pk in June. As stated, elephant ride was 100,000rp and only went for about 10mins (hubby took kids on it, I personally never feel the need to ride an elephant again!!). I've read that you can feed the elephants there and watch them bath?? but we didn't make it to that.
Basically depends probably how much elephant experience you want as to where you choose to go. You can combine the Taro Park with a cycling tour (which we did - it was really good!) or white water rafting or both. You can book this thru the tourist booths that you see around. Good luck with your decision making!
