Have flown Jetstar from Christchurch via Sydney to Bali several times which I guess will be pretty similar to Pacific Blue.
With Jetstar you can pre book your seats on the internet and pay for meals, blankets etc in advance.
Looks like no frills is here to stay and as you say it saves heaps of money.
The Wahine is fully recovered, apart for a Katapo spider bite a couple of weeks ago which set her back a bit, but you can't keep a good woman down for long.
She loves the wine prices and is positively purring over fresh lamb.
Auckland - Malbourne - Perth - Bali. Quite a hop isn't it? Hope you have a couple of good books!
