Nintendo DS Lite Which adapter and chip

Hello everyone, hoping you can help me. I am getting a little confused. Plrease correct and help me if I'm wrong. I believe there are 3 types of chip/ cards available, the M3 DS Real and the DS TT card, and the R4. Can anyone let me know the difference, and which ones are available in Bali or PERTH.
