We have recently returned from Thailand where we bought a Wii consol chipped already. Worked fine in Thailand. When we got home had problems and wouldnt work. We took to repairer and discoverd we had a US version (apparently there are zone specific versions) we had to have re-chipped and repaired here. I would suggest purchasing item here in Australia and not risk the problems we had. Really the cost turned out much more expensive that purchasing locally.
May be different in Bali but that is my experience based on Phuket.
