I met a young English girl in April who was badly bitten in three places, head, hand and ankle as the little bastard ran down her body.
Last year I was bitten on the hand at Uluwatu. Fortunately, the skin wasn't broken so I was OK. My only crime was to sit down and therefore a target for two monkeys to jump on my shoulders. I had my bag folded over so they couldn't steal anything... one monkey jumped down but the monkey stayed... it got so annoyed because he couldn't get in my bag so he bit me. A very kind soul (Hello Carol) took a photo of this and the look on the monkeys face is priceless. I had my eyes closed through all this as I once saw a terrible incident in the early 90's of a monkey sitting on a child's shoulder and it's claw was dragged across the child's eyes (could have easily taken the child's eyes out and doesn't bare thinking about)... the mother happily snapping away for a Kodak moment.
I would never go near a monkey again for a gold clock and a pension and more so now.
