would be to go public transport to Jakarta, by Pelini ship to Batam then speadboat to Singapore, turn around and come back.
Otherwise look into cheap Tiger Air or Air Asia tickets for Singapore. Generally a fair bit cheaper than US250 one way - you should be able to return for that.
If you just need a few days, the fine for overstay is US20 - US25 per day. Some just weigh that up and works out cheaper.
