We stayed at the MBR in Legian last year in November and had exactly the same problem with schoolies and smaller children wrt BB guns, noise and 'war games' around the hotel.
The hotel staff and security did very little to contain it.
Was there last week and stayed at the Lokha - absolutely fantastic! The only noise was a guest who played his bongo drums on his balcony and the hotel staff stopped it promptly.
I would give the MBR a wide birth.
