My 60 year old Mum & I recently stayed at Puri Raja and also wanted a quiet, party/kid-free holiday:

Does anybody have some pictures of the rooms or swimming pools to share? None of the rooms (which are quite small) and the ones we have of the pool are similar to those on their website anyway.

What resto's are nearby? Agree with previous responder - turn right at beach end of PR - 300 metres along are lots of great restaurants. Also the Flying Piano in Jl Werkadura (spelling?) is great.

Any info on prices for food or drinks within the hotel itself? Same as most resorts - that extra 20% in service/tax adds up.

Are there are lot of kids staying there?? (we dont have kids yet - hate screaming kids in the swimming pool) There were only a few kids - from toddlers to teens.

Is there any late night parties or loud music going ons that we should worry about. We arent interested in that type of atmosphere. No, pool bar is surprisingly quiet after dinner. They play music during the day. Hope you like Bon Jovi - they play it a lot!!!

The beach in front is it safe for swimming? Clean? Big surf, but clean and not too crowded.

Any comments good or bad would be great to hear them :) Any particular room recommendations/locations we should try for? I would probably ask for a room on the ground floor. We were on the top floor and found it a bit stuffy. I don't usually need the AC going all the time but here I did. The banana pancakes at breakfast are delicious! There is a money changer opposite PR, just to the right (street end), at the Kodak shop - Ayu, she is lovely and very honest.
