there is NOTHING wrong with the bakungsari, i stay there all the time, and am staying there again in march, some people r just fussy, the only time u stay in your room is to sleep, they have a/c, bar fridge, cable tv, and breakfast included in cost.
and it's very close to kuta market and matahari's.
dont let people turn u against it
