I stayed at the MBR last November and there was always security on the road end aswell as the beach end of the Resort. I loved it there so much that I am taking my son with me in February and I am not worried at all. It sounds like Schoolies does make a difference, but when I was there it was the most relaxing time I have ever had away. :)
