before I got to Ubud. I always stay there a couple of days but have always booked before I leave Australia. If you have accomadation in Kuta then I guess if you do arrive there and don't find anything you have the option of going back the same day. I do know that the Uma Sari Cottage in JL Bisma has vacancies cos I emailed them 250,000++ taxes per night for a double room. Looked like it was ok and in a good location. I ended up going somewhere else.
