We stayed at the Ida earlier this year. I would not say it is the cleanest hotel around, but for a budget hotel it is very good.
If you are looking at somewhere like Hard Rock, may i suggest you look at Kuta Paradiso. Very central and very clean, close to Ida and you walk straight out on to the main road, rather that have to walk down narrow and dirt roads which you have to do to get to the Ida. Pool is a bit different, but all very neat and tidy. Kuta paradiso also have a doctor on call, just in case.
