Have you looked at booking your trip yourself and not through an agent?
People on the forum are all talking about accommodation increases, I am currently looking at travelling to Bali in September 2009.
I can get return flights for $490 per person, add on the accomodation and you have a total of $1050 per person for 14 nights. We are staying at the Kumala Pantai which is a very nice hotel in a good location.
This is for a deluxe poolview room in the new block. For the same price I can get three deluxe rooms at KP compared to the price of one at Bali Mandira. KP quotes in rupiah which is a lot better than US dollars.
I stayed at Kumala Pantai in November, booked through an agent and we paid $1425 per person for 10 nights.
The flights are through Virgin, and I am dealing directly with the hotel for accommodation.
We depart from Perth so I know this is a lot cheaper than from the eastern states.
