...it isn't easy walking distance and walking with a stroller in bali is very difficult as the kerbs are twice as high and there are giant sewer holes in footpaths and contruction going on everywhere. You'll get my drift when you get there. I would limit my trips to short but frequent walks with 3 yr old walking and holding your hand or get wrist band etc, and catch lots of taxis. Also, although we stayed at the Bali Ayu this year and enjoyed it, just letting you know only the luxury villas have hot water and bathrooms very drab. I think as first time Bali travellers you might be a bit put off by bathrooms, but other than that we love the place. We have 2 kids 9 and 7 and we struggled to walk to Seminyak. It would be a good 30 - 45 minute walk. But again, plenty of taxis. Good luck and either way you'll love it!
