For a start I'd avoid Indonational because the food is barely average at higher than average prices and it has a hideous mural.
Seriously, though, I'd avoid crowded places - 2 places I avoid are Discovery Plaza in the late afternoon and Kuta Square anytime except for mornings, earlyish - both places crowded and easy targets. No discernible security in Kuta Square & the security at Discovery is perfunctory at best especially in the late afternoons when busloads of tourists arrive en masse, many Indonesians, almost all with backpacks.
Just be sensible and careful.
