This is a not quite back report.
We were booked for 12 days at the Sofitel in Seminyak. On arrival we were told that there was a problem with bookings. so they moved us to the Space Bali Vllas for 3 days. It was heaven a huge private pool butlers etc etc.
We were really chuffed when we got back to the Sofitel to find we had been upgraded to a Grand deluxe room.
The staff here are absolutely wonderful and can't do enough for you. We had a problem with the room Internet connection as my husband had to do a bit of work while here. They sorted it out quickly with a smile.
The reason we are still here and not back home as we should be by now is that my husband got the dreaded Bali Belly in the early hours of this morning and we were due to fly out at midday. There was no way he could fly. The Sofitel staff sorted out the airline ticket and gave us the room for another night and sent the Dr to our room.
All in all I can't say enough about this place it is the first time we have stayed here and it won't be the last. The breakfasts are to die for, the gardens and both pools are really lovely. We tended to use the Garden pool which was just next to our room. Only one problem was the Germans who day after day would get up early put their belongings and towels on the pool chairs and then disappear for the morning and sometimes not even use the pool for the day. Really inconsiderate behaviour, luckily they left after a while.
We had some wonderful meals, did shopping mainly for the kids. Of course went to Animale factory outlet for me. .
Went to the Bakus elephant safari. . wonderful ride through the jungle and through local villages. .
It would be great if they sorted out the immigration at the airport. Three aircraft had arrived at the same time and so we waited an hour and three quarters to get to the head of the long queue. There were quite a few booths empty I don't know why they didn't put more staff on to handle the situation. But I guess that is Bali!!
Not much else to report . . but would like to thank all on this forum for their reports and advice many of which I took note of.
