Amed has better snorkeling and sunsets, but the places to stay are isolated from each other, so transport is needed to get elsewhere
Candi Dasa is walkable with many choices of restaurants and Bars for the evening. I like CD since if you stay down on Forest Rd (east-side) you are right in among the villagers. The places to stay are interspersed with fisherman houese, cows, pigs, chickens, ...
