Indeed, rooms on ground floor are hard to get. Apparently priority is given to families with small kids and old patrons. Somehow this hotel has high return business with families and senior citizens.

Personally, I don't particularly favour the ground floor rooms due to lack of privacy. My room was on top floor. Apart from having better ventilation in the room (large open windows with lot of breeze in), wife and I could spent more quality time in the balcony in private. View was much better from upstairs too overlooking its beautiful frangipani garden. Brick/pavement view must be more dominant than the greens from the ground floor rooms as the frangipani and palm trees were tall. The only drawback was the stairs as the hotel had no elevator. But after a couple of days, we got used to the climb and absolutely loved the room location. We heard similar comments from regular patrons at the Green Garden when we ate there.

This is our first day back to normal life. Already we miss Bali and the hotel's friendly staff. Can't wait to get back in May for another long holiday.
