I did one of the bike rides with Sobek (Batur trail??) a couple of years ago with my partner. Not the run that goes a bit cross country, but the 'milder' one that is basically downhill from up near the volcano. Mostly you are on roads - few quiet tracks -, need to negotiate the usual cars, bike, chickens etc but no so busy as around Kuta etc. No where near as busy. There are only a couple of hefty up hill bits which, depending on the age of your kids, might be ok. I would say, based on my own kids, anywhere from age 8+ should be fine if your kids are used to bike riding. Under that and not sure. As for child seats - i doubt it, but you could go to sobek's website and email them.
Overall, thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to anyone. Next time we go, we'll be taking our kids on the ride too.
