spent one night at BIMC Hospital and it cost $1096 Aus. He was severely dehydrated so had to be put on a drip. The cost for the overnight stay was $500US and the rest of the cost was for tests and medication.
Lucky he had travel insurance. As dennisc said if you cant afford ins.you cant afford the holiday. And really when you look at the cost it really isn't all that much. I paid $180 for 2 month policy including excess buyout. Pretty cheap compared to what you could be up for if anything happens.
