thanks to the builders we were up and ready in plenty of time to get picked up and taken to benoa harbour. Our kids werent happy as they wanted to stay in Bali with our friends (whos kids are their age and they were having a great time together) after waiting for over an hour to get on the boat, we were off.
the boat was the bali hai, huge boat, 3 levels and the kids ended up driving the boat and sitting in the captains seat, having a ball, we got some good photos. quite a few people were seasick, i have to admit that i was getting there myself by the time we got there....
off at the pontoon and onto smaller boats to be dropped onto the island. we had a welcome drink and were told our huts wouldnt be ready until one oclock. No problem, although we were a bit worried our luggage didnt arrive on the same boat as us. We kept asking and getting told "it will come" the boss ended up finding it dumped on the beach and just left there, he wasnt happy as it had all our stuff for the 3 days we were there in it. Not very secure with a swag of people roaming all over the place.
The huts were cute, I was sure we were going to have at least one accident going up or down the steps (so steep) especially when having a few cocktails!!! but luckily no problems.
We loved the day beds underneath the huts, spent a lot of time lying watching the ocean, we were only about 10 feet from the water. In hindsight i would have gotten one beachfront and one gardenview (cheaper) as we really only used the one to sit at and the other one just to sleep in. We literally just vegged out and didnt do any of the activities except for the banana boat which the kids loved.
I wouldnt recommend this place for kids under 14 as there werent any other kids there. Only the day trippers brought the very odd child to the island. Our kids quickly got bored with their own company.
The lunch bbq was fantastic, with chicken, fish cooked the best i have ever tasted, pork sates, beef, noodles rice, salads etc, was one of the best meals we had in bali......
Bathrooms at the huts were groovy, i loved the outdoor large bathrooms with plenty of room, would love to have something like that at home! there are pics of huts and bathrooms on TA if anybody wants to have a look.
We had dinner at Mushroom Bay restaurant up on the hill on the last night, that was fantastic, had a chicken pasta dish was yummo and everybody elses meals were good too.
finally the trip back to bali, we were looking forward to doing some shopping (was having withdrawals)
more to come
