Chrissy if you can eat Indo food eg nasi goreng, fried chicken etc Warung Yogya cafe does very clean, safe and tasty meals for only $4 per person. Includes bottle of water and a coffee to finish. Was even less when exchage rate better. But I have seen Melati apartments and they do have kitchens. Very nice to stay in I would think.
