We started with an early start to be at the airport on time. We checked our bags and headed our way through customs. My younger brother Andrew got caught with a can of deodorant which he had tried to smuggle in his bag without telling Dad or Mum. The deodorant had to be taken off him. Dad bought some alcohol at the duty free shop. Then we boarded the plane and had to wait an hour for it to take off as someone forgot to fill the water tanks. On the flight I watched Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. We arrived in Singapore to find out that our connecting flight to Bali was 4 hours late. We explored the airport, went on the Sky Train to terminal 2 and checked out all the free entertainment. There were heaps of computer games, internet, movies. Then we headed to the Qantas lounge for dinner and a rest before boarding the plane. We arrived in Bali and checked into our hotel and went straight to bed as it was 4am in the morning.
Day 2
Wednesday 1 October
We looked around our new hotel and arranged to have a massage for the afternoon. We had a quick swim in the pool, and then walked up the street to check out the area. We stopped at the shopping centre to get some nibbles for the week. With all our shopping and as it was so hot Dad thought it would be a good idea to get a taxi back to the hotel. Andrew and I had another swim then it was time for our massage. It was a great massage. They covered us in all different oils and then in a coconut milk after that we had a shower. Then they gave us dinner.
Day 3
Thursday 2 October
We walked up to The Centro Shopping centre. I got some new sneakers the same size as my mum and I also got a pair of swimming goggles. We had a walk around Kuta Square and the beach then we headed back to the hotel for a swim. That night we had dinner at Bubba Gumps. It was set from the movie Forrest Gump. Mum & Dad had a cocktail called a Margarita. the staff shook the cocktail in front off us and did a dance. The ribs were yummy. Dad said that this was the most expensive meal on our trip.
Day 4
Friday 3 October
We went to Waterbom park. Dad Andrew & I went and checked out all the rides to see which rides we could take mum on. Andrew and I played in the kid's pool for a while to let Dad and mum have a rest and get some lunch. After lunch we took mum on the Macaroni tube and then ended up in the raft river. Then we went on the Boomerang which is 4 stories high. You go down a tube then it opens up, drops down one side and back up the other side and if you go fast enough you can get air borne over the hump and into the water. After that ride mum was pretty stressed and had to go and have a massage while we continued to ride the slides. As we had so much fun dad booked a second day for us.
Day 5
Saturday 4 October
We hired a driver and went to Seminyak. On the way we went to the Billabong factory. We then went to another shopping centre where Dad, Andrew & I played in the computer games arcade while mum went and checked out some make up. Then we went to a place where we had doona covers made for us. I choose a dark blue fabric and a striped blue fabric to go across the bottom with matching pillow cases.
Day 6
Sunday 5 October
We went to The Dynasty Hotel for a Yum Cha lunch. We had our favourite pork buns then Mum found a dead insect in the food so we decided to leave. We went to Centro to the toy shop and got a new DS chip with 128 games on it for 350,000 rupiah. We walked through the markets found that bartering was too hard so we went to a fixed price store called Diane's. She was lovely. She gave us a bottle of water, sat us under the fan, fitted us to the right size and I got 4 pairs of board shorts, 1 pair of dress shorts and 5 t shirts. After that it was time to chill out in the pool
Day 7
Monday 6 October
Bali Bike Baik tour
An early start we were pick up from the hotel at 7.30 and head to the Kintimani volcano for a traditional Balinese breakfast. Then we went to where they grow the coffee beans. We saw and animal called the Mongoose that eats the coffee bean then poo's it out and then it gets roasted. Then they make very expensive coffee called Coffee Lupiah with it. We sampled some Bali coffee, teas and hot chocolate - my favourite was the hot chocolate. We then went to another place to choose our bikes and started our 24 km bike ride through the rice fields and villages. I learnt that a lot of work is put into growing rice. As we rode through the villages and saw how the people lived the little children all came running out of their houses to say hello. We then were taken to the host's house and was given a traditional lunch and a tour of their house. After a very long hot day the drive took us home and I went straight to bed. This was the best day of our holiday.
Day 8
Tuesday 7th October
We hired a driver and went to the Safari park we went on the park tour and saw Owls, lions, hippos, elephants, deers, zebras all in their natural environment. We got to hold a parrot and have our photo taken with a baby lion, baby tiger and a baby orangutan.
After that we went to the Monkey forest where a monkey stole a packet of tissue out of my pocket thinking that it might have been a banana.
Day 9
Wednesday 8th October
We had a chill out day. We had a walk along the beach. Mum wanted to have her nails done while Andrew & I had a swim at the beach. But the lady tried to rip my mum off and she got really upset and walked away so we went back to the hotel and chilled out by the pool.
Day 10
Thursday 9th October
Our second day at Waterbom Park. We were the first in the park and we had our pick of where to set up camp for the day. We went straight to the Boomerang and Superbowl rides and did them both 7 times in a row as there were no queues. Mum got heaps of photos of us on the rides. As the queues got bigger we moved to the other rides - Macaroni tube, smashdown and the raft river. Had a great day
Day 11
Friday 10th October
Today was very boring as we went to Legian for mum to do some clothes shopping. We also picked up our doona covers and they were awesome.
After 5 hours of shopping we went home for a swim and then to the Il Cielo Italian restaurant for dinner. We then finished the day off with a massage for everyone. My brother Andrew giggled all the way through his so it was hard to relax.
Day 12
Saturday 11 October
Today we left the Febris Hotel for The Hard Rock Hotel for the last 3 days of our holiday. The Hard Rock Hotel was awesome. We saw an ACDC Angus Young guitar. The pool had under water music and the pool was half sand and half tiled. It was huge - a great pool. That night dad took me to see a live band in the front bar which was really cool.
Day 13
Sunday 12th October
Today we spent the day in the pool doing all the activities. We did water walking, searching for coins under water. I won 2 free drinks.
In the afternoon we found the VIP pool and spa. While mum chilled out we played table tennis, table soccer and a game of chess. That night we had a buffet dinner at the Hard Rock. On the way back to the room we stopped to see the band and Andrew got up on stage and sung & danced with the band. I put in a request for AC/DC Shook Me All Night long. We had so much fun that we didn't leave till 12 midnight.
Day 14
Monday 13th October
Today is the last day of our holiday in Bali. We hired a cabana beside the pool at the Hard Rock and chilled out in the pool until 3pm. Just the way to finish a 'AWESOME' holiday. Then we headed for the airport. We had a night in Singapore. The hotel we stayed in was not very good. The beds were hard and they were doing road works out the front of the hotel and we did not get much sleep.
Day 15
Tuesday 14th October
The transport in Singapore was very good we spent the day walking around the markets. We then headed to the Airport to find that our flight had been delayed by 3 hours Everyone was very tired and wanted to get home to see our dog Buddy and our own beds. We headed to the Qantas lounge, had some food and a little sleep. We arrived home at 3 am in the morning and Buddy was very happy to see us.
