My girl and I got married in Bali on 13th Sept. (while the All Blacks were beating the Wallabies in Brisbane!)
There were so many options, but we decided on a ceremony at the Legian Beach Hotel in their new wedding gazebo area. It was away from the beach and far more private. Very nice, cost around $1300 US, including the photographer and cake etc.
We had our reception next door at the Mandira, and again it was excellent. There was heaps of potential for them to rip us off, but they didn't. The service and food were second to none. We paid for our drinks by consumption, and at the end of the night they gave us a receipt for every single drink purchased. It cost half of what we were expecting. Everything was perfect, from the decorations to the DJ etc.
We could have done it all heaps cheaper by going somewhere else, but these hotels were fairly central for our guests, and the entire set up was very professional. Lots of our guests have written to us since saying it was the best wedding they have been to. We were really happy with how it turned out.
The only hidden cost was the fee at the Australian Consulate, which was $110 aust, but apart from that it all was as they told us via email.
All in all our entire wedding for 45 guests cost us around 5 1/2 grand.
