The focus remains on how expensive Bali is for two reason. Most importantly, this is a BALI forum.
Secondly, I have no doubt that for many tourists one of the main attractions of Bali was the cheap holiday it offered. It was cheaper to holiday in Bali than in Aus. When that holiday rises in price for two reasons (increased Hotel occupancy, hence price rises and lower AUS$) it places a strain on visitors who are already feeling the effects of the economic turndown in their own country.
For those that have paid for their holiday as a package, although they won't feel the effects as strongly as those that book fares and pay their accom on departure, there is still a decrease in what your $ can buy.
